Buying a family tent is something you need to carefully think about. Are you going to just use it for those well sheltered campsites or also for the slightly more open spaces like camping at the coast.
Also remember that a large family tent need to fit in your car and when you arrive somewhre you do not want to have to carry it around, stop and get out of the car to put up there and then...
